FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Hot off of a sweep of the No. 2 Tampa Spartans, the No. 2 Nova Southeastern University Sharks (29-6, 10-2 SSC) will host a familiar mid-week foe on Tuesday, welcoming the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (17-14) to town for the third segment of the scheduled five mid-week contests between the two teams.
Matt Hardy (So., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) is set to make his fourth start on Tuesday night, his second start in a row against the Sailfish. Hardy struck out two batters in five innings on March 30
th against PBA, but came away with a no-decision.
Gilberto Torres (Fr., Miami, Fla.) has been the first pitcher out of the bullpen for the past four mid-week games, earning the win in all four contests.
NSU's offense is coming off of a weekend that featured 12 extra base hits, six of them for home runs.
Michael Hernandez (So., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) hit a walk-off single on Friday night against the Spartans and hit a walk-off home run in the series finale to complete the sweep of the Spartans.
Justin Garcia (Jr., Hialeah, Fla.) hit two home runs, adding to his conference leading 13 home runs.
Kavan Thompson (Jr., Merritt Island, Fla.),
Mario Urdaneta (Sr., Ocala, Fla.) and
Dylan Woods (So., New Symrna Beach, Fla.) added one home run each on the weekend.
